Why join

What you get when you give

Lions give their time freely — and get a great deal back in return.

Real friendships

Meet neighbors who share your values and build the kind of friendships that come from working side by side for a cause.

Visible impact

See exactly where your effort goes — the child who got glasses, the student with a scholarship, the family you helped.

A global network

Belong to Lions Clubs International — 1.4 million members worldwide — while serving right here at home.

New skills

Lead a project, plan an event, or learn the ropes of a nonprofit — grow personally while you give.

A welcoming club

No experience needed and no pressure. Come as you are, help where you can, and enjoy the company.

Hometown pride

Help preserve a historic clubhouse and strengthen the community you call home for generations to come.

Membership FAQ

Who can join the club?

Any adult who wants to serve their community is welcome. Members come from Wales, Genesee Depot, the Town of Genesee and the surrounding area. No special skills required — just a willingness to help.

How much time does it take?

It's flexible. The club meets twice a month, and you choose which projects and events fit your schedule — from a few hours a year to every event we hold.

Are there membership dues?

Like all Lions clubs, we have modest annual dues that cover Lions International and district membership. We'll walk you through the details when you visit — and the value far outweighs the cost.

Do I have to attend every meeting?

No. We'd love to see you when you can make it, but we know life is busy. Members participate at whatever level works for them.

Not ready to join? You can still help.

You don't have to be a member to make a difference. Lend a hand at a pancake breakfast, the car show or any of our events — no dues, no meetings, no commitment. Many of our members started as volunteers who simply kept coming back.
